Chris Aebig and Zach Henderson each scored two goals, pacing the Montague soccer team to a season-opening 9-1 victory over Pentwater on Wednesday.

The game only lasted six minutes into the second half, when it was stopped due to the eight-goal mercy rule.

Aebig and Henderson each had two assists to go with their goals. Trevin Silvers had one goal and two assists, Andy Hernandez had one goal and one assist while Owen Raeth, Lucas Husband and Trevor Trevino each scored once for Montague.

Carter Mahoney had a pair of assists for the Wildcats.

Montague will compete in the Oakridge Invitational on Saturday.
