The Fruitport soccer team has been mercy-ruling a lot of O-K Silver conference opponents this season.
The latest occurred on Tuesday night, when the Trojans beat Belding by the mercy rule score of 8-0 in the first round of the conference tournament.

It was the fourth time this season that Fruitport has ended a game early due to an eight-goal lead against conference opponents.
Jorge Burgos-Yack and Caleb Chandler each scored two goals for the Trojans. Ryder Merkins, Carter Latsch, Adriano Pineda Saadi and Tate Marshall each scored once.
Burgos-Yack and Jyles Smith each had two assists while Quincy McDaniels and Davis Johnson each had one.

Fruitport goalkeepers Mason Kettel and Sebastion Sweet combined to post the shutout.
Fruitport, now 13-3-3 overall and 8-0 in conference play, will host Godwin Heights on Thursday in the tournament semifinal round.
