The Fruitport volleyball team just kept getting stronger as the match went along.

The Trojans had to battle a bit to beat Godwin Heights in the first set on Thursday, winning 25-18. Then they really got going, taking the second set 25-12 and the third 25-10 to sweep the Wolverines in an O-K Silver conference match.

Fruitport has also gotten stronger as the season has progressed. Since the season-opening Coopersville Invitational, when they went 3-2-1, the Trojans have posted an impressive 8-2 record.

Alexa Sweet

They are 11-4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

Emma Danicek led the team’s balanced attack with eight kills, Rowyn Miller added seven and Ellie Stroup had six.

Emma Fecher

The assist duo of Alexa Sweet and Emma Fecher had 16 and 13, respectively.

Defensively, Izzy Hansen-Wilbur recorded 11 digs.

The Trojans will play several non-conference matches on Tuesday at Spring Lake.storagemini
