Having four runners finish in the top 20 out of 64 is pretty darned good.
That’s what the Fruitport girls cross country team accomplished on Wednesday at the first O-K Silver conference meet of the season.
Zoe German led the Trojans with a fourth place finish with a time of 21:05.
Claire Kohley finished 12th with a time of 22:53.

Hailey Heistand (23:49) and Peyhton Beardsley (24:05) rounded out the Fruitport placers by finishing 18th and 19th, respectively.
“Zoe took it out for the girls and tried to hang on to the top two runners,” said Fruitport head coach Randy Johnson. “Clair ran really well and looked strong while Hailey ran one of her best times of the season.”
The Trojans finished third in the final team standings with 74 points.
Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian won the event with a score of 32. Calvin Christian was second with 72 points. Behind Fruitport were Belding (84), Hopkins (86) and Comstock Park (172).
