The Fruitport boys track team had mixed results in a three-team O-K Silver conference meet on Tuesday, easily beating Kelloggsville but falling just short against Belding.

The Trojans were dominant against Kelloggsville, winning 92-44.

Luke Westerlund won two events, in the discus and shot put. Damien Jones also finished first twice, in the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump.

Also finishing first for Fruitport were Nathaniel Cribley-Cotto in the 200-meter dash, Christian Pavlige in the 800-meter run, Dylan Winskas in the 1,600-meter run, SeanPaul O’Brien in the long jump and Emmitt Renauldo in the pole vault.

The team of Alan Jackson, O’Brien, Johnnie Kempker and Cribley-Cotto took first place in the 4×100 relay.

The team of Landon Johnson, Winskas, Pavlige and Ryder Merkins won the 4×800 relay.

Fruitport lost a 70-67 heartbreaker against Belding.

Westerlund won both the shot put and discus, Pavilige won the 800 run, Jones won the high jump and O’Brien won the long jump.

The 4×800 relay team also took first, along with the 4×400 meter relay team (Merkins, Landen Peck, Jones and Pavlige).

“We had a lot of athletes step up and achieve huge personal records,” said Fruitport head coach Tim McKeeby. “Shout out to all of our athletes for working hard and giving their best effort.
