The talented Fruitport boys track team had some mixed results last week in a three-way O-K Silver conference meet against Comstock Park and Hopkins.
The Trojans were dominant against Comstock Park, walking away with a 124-12 victory.
Fruitport took first place in every event.
The Trojans’ winners included Nathaniel Cribley-Cotto in the 100-meter dash (11.59) and 200-meter dash (23.57); Dylan Winskas in the 1,600-meter run (2:03.59) and 3,200-meter run (11:35.26); Ryder Merkins in the 400-meter dash (53.30) and Christian Pavlige in the 800-meter run (5:14.87).
Winners in the hurdles were Connor King (110-meter, 19:03) and Damien Jones (300-meter, 46.32).

Trojans taking first in the field events were Luke Westerlund in the shot put (47 feet, 5.5 inches) and discus (131 feet, 4 inches); Jones in the high jump (5 feet, 6 inches); SeanPaul O’Brien in the long jump (19 feet, 6 inches); and Emmitt Renauldo in the pole vault (12 feet, 6 inches).
Fruitport also had a clean sweep in the relay events.
Winners were the 4×100 team of Alan Jackson, OBrien, Johnnie Kempker and Cribley-Cotto (45.57); the 4×200 team of O’Brien, Cribley-Cotto, Kempker and Jones (1:35); the 4×400 team of Merkins, Landen Peck, Jones and Pavlige (3:45.88); and the 4×800 team of Landon Johnson, Winskas, Josh Vanstelle and Ronin Peterson-Breitner (10:07.83).
Taking second for Fruitport were Kempker (100 meter), Jackson (200 meter), Peck (400 meter), Merkins (800 meter), VanStelle (3,200-meter), Elliot Saffel (110 hurdles), Braylon Richards (300 hurdles), Mason Armstrong (discus), Scott Lamber (high jump), Kempker (long jump), and Evan Olson (pole vault).
Finishing third were Jackson in the 100, O’Brien in the 200, Peck in the 400, Johnson in the 3,200, Nashawn Beane in the 110 hurdles, Chase Rosema in the shot put and discus, Scott Lambert in the long jump and Payton Judd in the pole vault.

The Trojans did not have as much luck against Hopkins, falling 86-51. Each event occurred only once in the meet with the three schools competing at the same time. The placement against the two opponents varied.
Against Hopkins, taking first for Fruitport were Cribley-Cotto in the 100 and 200, Merkins in the 400, Westerlund in the shot put and discus, and the 4X100 relay team.
Taking second were Kempker in the 100, Winskas in the 3,200, Jones in the high jump and O’Brien in the long jump.
Finishing third were Jackson in the 100 and 200, Pavlige in the 800, King in the 110 hurdles, Jones in the 300 hurdles, Chase Rosema in the shot put, Armstrong in the discus, Kempker in the long jump and Renauldo in the pole vault.
“We are proud of our team for working hard and doing there best,” said Fruitport coach Tim McKeeby. “Although we lost to a very good Hopkins team, we are determined to stay focus and continue to compete for a conference title. Shout out to all of our top placers!”
