Gavin Wilson is turning into a pretty well-rounded player for the Fruitport boys volleyball team.
Wilson helped pace the Trojan offense on Tuesday with four kills and two aces, and also led the defense with 11 digs.
His efforts were not enough, however. The Trojans continued to experience the challenges of a first-year varsity team, falling to Zeeland 10-25, 22-25 and Holland Christian 10-25, 10-25.
The Trojans are now 1-10 overall and 0-4 in conference play.

Despite the losses, Fruitport head coach Sam Moore saw some silver lining.
“I was proud of how we earned most of our points tonight,” Moore said. “We did not get them via the other team’s errors. That is progress.”
David Johnson-Jimenez had five kills for the Trojans while Tanner Cappema added four.
Cappema also served two aces while Ed Bouchard had 13 assists.
