The Fruitport baseball team got off to a great start in its quest to win a conference title this season, sweeping Kelloggsville in two blowout wins in an O-K Silver doubleheader on Tuesday.

In Game 1, the Trojans exploded for a 12-run second inning to secure a 21-0 victory. Dexter Lillmars was perfect on the mound, striking out eight and allowing no baserunners in a three-inning complete game.

Lillmars also led the offense with three hits and three RBIs, while Avery Lambers added two hits and two RBIs. Garrett Olson, Kolton Kennedy and Liam Campbell each reached base twice, and Satchel Norwood contributed two RBIs.

In Game 2, Olson, a freshman, earned his first varsity win, tossing four no-hit innings with 11 strikeouts. The offense backed him up with an 11-run fourth inning to end the game 18-0.

Hudson Hazekamp and Dexter Lillmars each tallied three hits, while Trevor Rusnak and Kolton Kennedy reached base three times apiece.

Fruitport is now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.storagemini
