LAST YEAR: The Trojans had a big breakthrough season, posting a 13-7 overall record and winning the O-K Silver conference championship. They started out 1-3, then rattled off eight straight wins and found the necessary confidence to win the conference title. The season ended on a tough note, however, with a 1-0 overtime shootout loss to NorthPointe Christian in the conference tournament championship game (which did not affect the overall championship), then a 2-1 loss in districts to a good Allendale squad.
THE FAB FIVE RETURNS: The Trojans should be loaded with talent this season, and a lot of it is still very young. Last season they promoted an unusually gifted group of five freshman straight to varsity, and they were a hit right away. All five earned All-Conference honors and four were the top scorers on the team. The four super freshmen return this year as sophomores – Myla Parker (team-leading 11 goals last season), Peyhton Beardsley (9 goals), Porter Johnson (9 goals), McKenna Joslyn (8 goals) and Mayce Hall.

PLENTY OF OTHER TALENT BACK, AS WELL: Goalie Ava Powell (1.30 goals against average last year) and fellow seniors Gracelynn Olson, Shea Harris, Violent Olinghouse and Haylee Beery are all back, as are honorable mention All-Stater Izzy Hanson-Wilbur and fellow juniors Ava Vanveelan and Alexa Sweet. Sophomores Elaina Cribley-Cotto and Olivia Cribley-Cotto were both called up to varsity last year, played well in a handful of games, and will add a lot of depth this season.
NEWCOMERS: Senior Kaylynn Pavlige, who did not play last season, is back to add even more depth, and freshman Regan Wilson, who stood out in volleyball in the fall and basketball in the winter, will add her considerable abilities to the roster.

IMPRESSIVE STATS: The Trojans’ emergence last year was evident in some eye-opening statistics. Their goals against average dropped from 2.1 in 2024 to 1.3 last year. The team’s goal differential also made a striking turnaround. The Trojans scored 18 goals and gave up 40 in 2024, then scored 64 goals and gave up only 26 last yearf.
OPENING GAME: Monday night at home against Hart.
COACH QUOTE: “The program is looking to continue to improve every day and to compete against anyone.” – Kyle Hall
