The Fruitport boys bowling team’s great season ended in regionals last weekend.
The Trojans competed in a Division 2 team regional and finished in sixth place with a combined 10-game score of 3,192. Only the top two teams advanced to the state finals.
Reeths-Puffer (3,491 points) and Cedar Springs (3,323) took the first two spots.

The Trojans competed in an individual regional tournament the next day. The top seven bowlers qualified for the state finals, and all the Trojans missed the cut.
Fruitport’s Peyton Wirt finished in 10th place with a six-game score of 1,170.
While the postseason did not go great for the Trojans, they will always remember a terrific regular season, when they soared to the O-K Silver conference championship.
“We had an outstanding season, finishing with an overall record of 15-1 and capturing the conference championship,” said Fruitport head coach Tim McKeeby. “Four of our athletes earned All-Conference honors, a testament to the hard work and dedication shown throughout the year.
“These athletes were Bradley Dekker, Keenan Camp, Peyton Wirt, and Dylan Winskas. Every member of the team made significant strides and showed tremendous growth over the course of the season.”
