Saturday’s Sparta Invitational was obviously a very tough race with a lot of great runners.

For example, Fruitport’s Peyhton Beardsley, who often finishes near the top of the individual standings in her races, posted her best time of the season and still finished 15th.

It was still another great performance by Beardsley, who came in with a time of 20:20, despite having some issues with her shins.

As a team, the Trojans finished fifth out of six in the final standings with 139 points, ahead of Sparta, which finished with 146.

Grand Rapids South Christian took first place.

Zoe German had the second-best time for Fruitport, finishing the race strong with a time of 21:00.

Kaylynn Pavlige had a time of 22:57, followed by Claire Kohley (23:02) and Brynley Merkins (23:16).ministorage
