Fruitport High School has something that the vast majority of high schools in Michigan do not:

It’s own sports news website, MuskegonSports.com, staffed by professional journalists, giving Fruitport fans all the game, match and meet stories for all of the Trojan varsity teams, throughout the fall, winter and spring seasons.

The MuskegonSports.com website limits its coverage to Fruitport sports – along with West Michigan Ironmen football in the spring. That’s all we report, and we put a lot of time, effort and passion into it.

That means Fruitport gets far more media attention than most Muskegon County schools have ever experienced, and it’s all due to the generosity of the handful of local businesses that sponsor Trojan coverage.storage

This year, seven sponsors are on the team that keeps the Trojans in the spotlight.

Back for the fourth year is VanDyk Mortgage – led by Mario Flores – the primary sponsor of Fruitport media coverage. Mario and his company have been on board since the first day we started covering the Trojans.0

Returning as second-year sponsors are Johnson Auto Sales, The Storage Group, Mini-Excavating and Strategic CPA.

New to the roster this year are two other Fruitport-area companies – Cadena Brothers Pizza and Mike Rose Landscape and Irrigation.

We will be posting more in-depth stories about each of our sponsors throughout the 2025-26 season, so readers can get to know them better.

As one can imagine, all businesses are constantly bombarded with requests for sponsorships for this and that, and it can be overwhelming and expensive.mini

Yet these seven companies understand the importance of high school athletics, the positive benefits they have for kids, and the importance of recognizing student-athlete achievements, so they have stepped forward to help Fruitport maintain its excellent online media coverage.

We can’t thank the members of our sponsorship team enough, and we hope all Trojan fans will thank them by doing businesses with them whenever the opportunity arises.

In the meantime, please log on to MuskegonSports.com for all the Trojan news. Last year Fruitport teams secured an amazing eight championships in the O-K Silver conference, and more exciting things are bound to happen over the coming months!

Go Trojans!
