The Fruitport boys cross country team finished in fifth place on Wednesday in the first O-K Blue conference jamboree at Spring Lake High School.

The Trojans finished with a team score of 123. Allendale took first place with 34 points.

“It was our first conference meet,” Fruitport coach Randy Johnson said about his team’s outing. “We had some good performances, but as a team it wasn’t our best day.”

Junior Vincent Pollock led the Trojans with a time of 17:12.50, which was good for eighth place in the individual standings. Senior Ethan Horan finished 25th overall with a time of 18:10.20.

Senior Alex Wilber finished 28th with a time of 18:22.90, senior Levi Bol was 30th overall with a time of 18:26.00, and sophomore Landon Johnson was 37th with a time of 18:53.00.

The boys team will next be in action on Saturday at the Grand Rapids Covenant Christian Invitational.
