The Fruitport girls basketball team had trouble getting its offense rolling on Friday and fell 49-22 to Coopersville in an O-K Blue conference matchup on the road.

The Trojans trailed 14-7 after one period, 26-14 at halftime and 42-15 after a rough third quarter, when they only scored one point.

“We had a lot of open shots that we couldn’t convert on,” said Fruitport coach Brian Packard. “We have a long week ahead of us with three games next week, but we will continue to get better.”

Auebre Johnson led Fruitport with eight points and Ash Olson added six.

Jorja Blackmer pulled down eight rebounds for the Trojans.
