After a slow start, the Oakridge boys basketball team buckled down and scored an opening night win over Holton 65-28.
The Eagles trailed 14-9 after one quarter, but used a 15-3 edge in the second to lead 24-17 at halftime. Oakridge led 45-23 after three quarters.
Peyton Ruel led all scorers with 19 points for Oakridge. Julian Primmer added 10 and Evan Jozsa tossed in nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Carter Brant scored 15 points to lead Holton, while Brodrick Fialek grabbed 15 rebounds.
