A tough first half was too much for Montague to overcome on Friday night in a 44-15 loss to Reed City in the Division 6 playoffs.
The Wildcats trailed 8-0 after one and 24-0 at halftime.
In the third quarter, Adam Baird scored on a one-yard touchdown to cut the deficit to 24-8 with 9:19 remaining in the quarter.
Following a Reed City touchdown, Chase Gowell found Paul Olson for a one-yard touchdown pass to make the score 30-15 which remained the score after three quarters.
Two fourth quarter Reed City touchdowns made the final score 44-15.
Gowell finished 14-of-28 for 175 yards and one touchdown on the night while Baird totaled 59 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries.
DeCarri Williams led the receivers with 74 yards on four catches while Olson had 43 yards and a touchdown on seven catches.
Montague finishes the season with a record of 3-7 after the loss.
