The Hart football team picked up its fourth win of the season Friday, beating Mason County Central in West Michigan Conference Rivers division action.

Hart got on the board first with a 17-yard run by Trayce Tate to take an 8-0 lead in the first quarter. The Pirates added to the lead in the second on an 84-yard pass from Trenton Swihart to Chase Gale, extending the lead to 14-0.

The Spartans responded before halftime, scoring on a 14-yard pass from Will Chye to Kaiden Cole to pull within 14-8. 

Hart scored the lone points in the third quarter on a 4-yard run by Connor Edwards, making the score 22-8. 

Mason County Central scored with around three minutes remaining to pull within 22-16. Chye and Cole connected once again, this time for a 10-yard score. 

Eman Hertzler led Hart with 118 yards on nine carries. Tate added 57 rushing yards. Swihart was 4-for-7 passing for 151 yards. Gale caught three passes for 148 yards. 

Hart is now 4-2 on the season and 2-1 in the WMC Rivers. Mason County Central is 1-5 overall and 1-3 in league action.
