The Fremont football team used a strong offensive night to pick up a 38-16 West Michigan Conference victory over Orchard View on Friday night.
A 12-yard Justin Dirheimer touchdown run put the Packers ahead 8-0 after one quarter of play.
In the second quarter, Talen Reichert-Slater found Gabe Curtice for a 20-yard passing touchdown to extend the Fremont lead to 14-0.
Orchard View responded to cut the deficit to 14-8 before Dirheimer ended the half with a nine-yard touchdown run to make the halftime score 22-8 in favor of Fremont.
Following an Orchard View score that cut the Packer lead to 22-16, Owen Hertel broke loose for a 62-yard touchdown run, making the score 30-16.
Dirheimer scored the lone touchdown in the fourth quarter on a six-yard run, making the final score 38-16.
Dirheimer led the Packers with 172 yards and three touchdown on 30 carries while Reichert-Slater finished with 73 yards and one touchdown on 9-of-14 passing.
Curtice led the Fremont receivers with 46 yards and one touchdown on four receptions while Connor Pettis led the defense with eight tackles.
Fremont is now 4-2 overall and 1-2 in conference play, they’ll next travel to Montague.
