The Ravenna football team turned on the jets on Friday night, downing Holton 61-8 in a West Michigan Conference clash.

Hunter Hogan led off the scoring for the Bulldogs with a punt return for a touchdown early in the first quarter.

Ravenna added three more scores in the first quarter – a 10-yard TD run by Nathan Kooiman, a fumble recovery touchdown by Drew Mabrito and a 27-yard run by Clay Schullo – to take a 27-0 lead.

The Bulldogs scored three more times in the second quarter on 11 and 9-yard runs by Hogan and an 18-yard burst by Schullo and led 48-0 at halftime.

Ravenna’s Carter Schullo, who had 4.5 tackles in the game.

Schullo returned a kickoff 70 yards for a score in the third quarter and Ravenna led 55-0 heading into the fourth.

Holton scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter on a seven-yard run by sophomore Riley Pierce, then Ravenna got one more score when Hogan found the end zone on an 85-yard kickoff return.

Kooiman finished with 57 yards rushing, Clay Schullo added 47 and Hogan completed four passes for 64 yards.

Hogan was the leading tackler with five stops while Carter Schullo and Brennan Buskirk had 4.5 apiece.

The Bulldogs are now 2-1 on the season and 1-0 in the WMC Rivers Division standings.
