The Mason County Central football team opened the season with a 33-16 home loss to Frankfort on Friday night.
Kolden Myers opened the scoring in the first quarter for the Spartans with a 12-yard touchdown reception on a pass from Will Chye. A two-point conversion pass from Chye to Kaiden Cole was successful to give Mason County Central an 8-0 lead.
The Spartans added a defensive safety in the first half to take a 10-6 lead.
Frankfort outscored Mason County Central 14-0 in the third quarter to jump ahead 20-10.
Frankfort extended its lead to 33-10, then the Spartans scored once more on a 36-yard touchdown run by Jayden Perrone.
Mason County Central will next host Manistee on Thursday.
