The Muskegon Catholic volleyball team battled hard but lost a five-set match to Oakridge on Tuesday.
Oakridge won the first and third sets, MCC won the second and fourth, then the Eagles took the tiebreaker 15-5.
Sophomore Clare Carlton paced the Crusaders with eight kills in only her fifth varsity match. Clare LaVigne served up four aces and had 17 assists.
Defensively, LaVigne had 17 digs and Kathryn Greval had three blocks.
MCC is now 2-3 on the season.
