The Mona Shores and Kenowa Hills baseball teams split a pair of games on Saturday.

The Sailors took a 5-4 victory in Game 1. Jaxon Huffman earned the win from the mound, allowing one run while striking out 15 batters.

Mona Shores clinched the win with a three-run inning in the sixth. Mason Brunworth and Bryson Belanger each landed two hits, and Isaac Habitler and Aaron Piasecki followed with one hit each. Mark Konecny landed his seventh home run of the season.

Evan Breuker took the loss for the Knights, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out one batter. Trevin Laming, Dylan Nguyen, Joey Hysell, Justin Stulpe, Jaiden Acker, Nolan Thayer, and Gibson Ouellette each had one hit for Kenowa Hills.

The Sailors held two four-run leads in Game 2, but ultimately fell 16-6 to the Knights. Ouellette opened the game from the mound, allowing four hits and five runs while striking out one. Hysell pitched the final three innings, giving up five hits and one run.

The Knights totaled 18 hits in game two. Stuple led Kenowa Hills with three hits, with Ouellette, Breuker, Hysell, Nguyen, Laming, and Nolan Thayer each landing multiple hits as well.

Trevor Cunningham took the loss from the mound for Mona Shores. Brunworth totaled three hits in Game 2to lead the Mona Shores. Javanni Johnson landed two hits, including a home run, and Konecny had two hits as well.

The Sailors are now 23-4 for the season, with a 14-1 record in O-K Green conference play.

Reeths-Puffer takes two in tournament at home

The Rockets defeated Spring Lake 8-6 in Game 1, with Jaxson Whitaker earning the win with one walk and four strikeouts. Brody Panozzo, Coby Michelson, Trent Reichert, Kaden Edwards, and Jett Boersema each collected hits for Reeths-Puffer.

Reeths-Puffer took the win in the championship game, defeating Northview 11-1.  Reichert earned the win from the mound. Panozzo led the Rockets with three hits, followed by Edwards, Alex Johnson, and David Wilhelm with two apiece..

The Rockets will face Muskegon in a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Grand Haven sweeps doubleheader against South Christian

The Buccaneers defeated South Christian 9-2 in Game 1. Nick Wilson picked up the win, allowing four hits, two runs, and striking out eight batters.

Ty Sandwick led Grand Haven with three hits and one RBI. Jared Tithof had two hits and three RBIs and Trenton Caswell landed two hits with two RBIs. Dayton Deal and Jake Mahoney each had one hit.

The Buccaneers took the second game with an 11-1 victory over South Christian. Ethan Lautenschlaeger earned the win, allowing six hits and one run while striking out one batter.

Lucas Burns had four hits and one RBI for Grand Haven, followed by Sandwick with two hits and three RBI, as well as Tithof with two hits and one RBI. Evan DuVall had one hit and two RBI, and Owen Brunsting tallied one hit and one RBI.

Montague drops two in Rockford doubleheader

The Wildcats held a 4-1 lead until the bottom of the fourth inning when Rockford tied the game up. The Rams scored a single run to take the lead in the sixth and pull out a 5-4 victory.

Colton Blankstrom took the loss from the mound, allowing four hits and one run while striking out one batter. Kade Johnson pitched for two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out two. Owen Petersen also pitched, allowing three hits and three runs.

Aidan Buchberger led Montague with two hits and an RBI, with Petersen adding two hits and Tate Stine adding one.

Rockford dominated the second game, defeating the Wildcats 10-4. Stine took the loss, giving up four hits and six runs while striking out three batters. Hayden McDonald allowed two hits and four runs and struck out three.

Nick Moss led Montague with two hits and an RBI, with Tugg Nichols also landing two hits. Buchberger had one hit and one RBI.

The Wildcats are now 14-9 for the season, with a 10-0 record in conference play.

Fremont splits with Tri-County

Two runs from Fremont in the fifth inning broke the 3-3 tie with the Vikings. The Packers defeated Tri-County 5-4 in game one. Gabe Vanvleet took the win from the mound, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out ten batters.

Logan Nelson, Brendon Maka, and Vanvleet each had RBIs to help Fremont take the win.

The Packers fell to Tri-County in game two, facing a 7-5 defeat. The game was tied 5-5 at the top of the eighth when the Vikings scored to seal their victory.

Maka earned the loss from the mound, allowing 12 hits and seven runs while striking out one batter.

Maka and David Faulkner each landed two hits for Fremont. Carl Vleim had one RBI.

Hudsonville sweeps Northview in doubleheader

The Hudsonville softball team triumphed in game one with a 20-1 victory over the Wildcats. Elly Koopman pitched the win, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four batters.

The Eagles totaled 21 hits in the first game. Megan Beemer, Ella Reifschneider, Avery Hobson, Josie Weber, and Brooke VanDeBurg each had three hits. Koopman And VanDeBurg totaled four RBIs each.

Northview held the lead for three innings in game two, but the Eagles ultimately took the win 12-7. Jillian Poel pitched for three innings, allowing four hits and three runs. Koopman pitched the final four innings, allowing two hits but no runs.

Beemer, Reifschneider, Koopman, and Jessica Dobias each had two hits. Koopman also had three RBIs.
