The North Muskegon baseball team won its first game of a doubleheader on Friday 4-0 against West Ottawa, then ended the second contest due to darkness with the scored tied 5-5.
Troy McManus threw a complete game shutout for the Norse in the opening game. He allowed only two hits while striking out four batters.
McManus also helped his cause at the plate with a hit, while Ryan Delora picked up a hit and three RBIs.
Montague drops both games of a doubleheader against Forest Hills Eastern
The Wildcats lost the opening game 8-0, then dropped the nightcap by a 5-1 margin on Friday night.
In Game 1, Owen Peterson suffered the loss, turning in three innings pitched, allowing four earned runs on one hit and five walks.
Petersen, Kade Johnson and Aidan Buchberger recorded a hit each.
Colton Blankstrom received a tough luck loss in Game 2, going 5 ⅓ inning, allowing three earned runs on six hits, while striking out five.
Tugg Nichols recorded three hits and an RBI, while Buchberger finished with two hits in the contest.
The Wildcats are now 2-5 overall and 2-0 in West Michigan Conference play.
