The Kenowa Hills baseball team got great pitching a doubleheader sweep of Wayland on Tuesday.

Evan Breuker pitched a five-inning shutout in an 11-0 win in Game 1. He didn’t allow any hits or walks and struck out nine batters. The Knights secured the victory with eight runs in the fifth inning. Nolan Thayer, Jaiden Acker, Joey Hysell and Jack Kubiak all drove in runs during the decisive inning.

The Knights took the nightcap by a 14-0 score.

Travis Laming hit a pair of homers for Kenowa Hills and finished with five RBIs. Justin Stulpe pitched three innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.

Montague falls to Grand Rapids Christian 11-3

Montague stranded six runners on base in the first two innings and 11 in the game. Grand Rapids Christian took control by scoring six runs in the sixth inning.

Tugg Nichols led Montague with two hits and one RBI, Nick Moss had a hit and two stolen bases, and Aidan Buchberger stole two bases
