Natalie Pannucci scored two late goals to give the defending state champion North Muskegon girls soccer team a 2-0 victory over Western Michigan Christian on Thursday in the season opener for both teams.

The game, played in rainy and then snowy conditions, was scoreless until the last seven minutes, when Pannucci scored both of her goals. Jaley Schults assisted on the first goal while Katie Kinahan assisted on the second.

The Norse dominated offensively, outshooting the Warriors 19-0, but WMC goalie Libby Mast played great, keeping North Muskegon off the board for most of the game.
