The Grand Haven boys basketball team improved to 13-1 on the season and 8-1 in O-K Red conference play with a 63-42 win over Holland West Ottawa on Tuesday.

Bashir Neely led the Buccaneers with 27 points while Nic Stump added 11 and Owen Worthington scored nine.

Grand Haven will face off against Caledonia on the road on Friday night.

O-K RED

EAST KENTWOOD 58, HUDSONVILLE 49 – A slow first quarter doomed the Eagles as they fell to the Falcons in O-K Red Conference action.

The Eagles were outscored 17-7 in the first quarter and trailed 28-18 at halftime. The Eagles were unable to cut into the lead in the third quarter and trailed 42-32 at the start of the fourth.

Mason Dykstra paced the Eagles with 16 points.

O-K GREEN

ZEELAND WEST 51, MONA SHORES 43 – The Sailors fought hard but couldn’t finish the key tough baskets and stops down the stretch.

Parker Swartz paced the Sailors with 20 points and six rebounds. Donovan Russell added a career-high 17 points and eight boards.

Mona Shores is now 7-8 overall and 4-5 in conference play.

O-K BLUE

COOPERSVILLE 69, HAMILTON 54 – The Broncos dominated the first quarter en route to a conference win.

The Broncos outscored Hamilton 20-4 in the first quarter and led 37-19 at halftime.

Travis Rosel paced Coopersville with 21 points while Mark Devries finished with 14.

NON-CONFERENCE

TRAVERSE CITY WEST 71, LUDINGTON 50 – The Orioles fell behind 12-10 after the first quarter,and trailed 25-18 at halftime. Ludington was outscored 27-15 in the third quarter and could not make up the difference.

David Shillinger paced the Orioles with 15 points. Gage Jones chipped in with eight points while Peyton LaCombe recorded seven.

OAKRIDGE 78, WESTERN MICHIGAN CHRISTIAN 57 – Oakridge led 22-12 after one quarter and 38-19 at halftime and cruised from there.

Jared Olson scored 20 points for WMC in the losing effort while Owen Varnado added 13 and Sam Liggett had 11.

Oakridge is now 7-8 on the season,

WHITEHALL 76, MANISTEE 49 – The Vikings gained their big advantage with a 25-5 advantage in the first quarter and a 24-7 edge in the third.

Camden Thompson led Whitehall with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Kyle Stratton and Red Watson each added 12 for the Vikings.

Whitehall is now 9-4 on the season.
