The Fremont boys basketball team opened its season with a 54-47 victory over Shelby in non-conference action.

The game was tied at halftime and at the end of the third quarter, but Fremont pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Joey DeLong had a very good game for Fremont, finishing with 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals. Logan Nelson added eight points, seven assists and two steals while Eli Shears had eight points, four rebounds and two steals off the bench.

Bishop Lee had 24 points and 11 rebounds for Shelby.

GRANT 82, KENT CITY 74 – The Eagles led 28-15 after one quarter and 41-34 at halftime, but Grant stole the win with a 48-33 advantage in the second half, including a decisive 28-15 edge in the fourth quarter.

Hayden Carlson had 28 points, nine assists and four rebounds for Kent City while Kyler Larson added 21 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
