The Coopersville girls basketball team used a strong first half to pick up a season-opening win against Ravenna, 31-20, on Tuesday.
The Broncos led 8-2 after the first quarter and built an 18-6 edge at halftime. Ravenna grabbed a slight edge in the third, bringing the score to 22-12, before the Broncos closed the game out in the fourth.

Dannyka Johnson led Coopersville with nine points and seven rebounds. Madison miller added three points, nine rebounds and four steals for the Broncos, while Annie Sietsema added five points.
Alexis McMahon led Ravenna with five points and three steals, while Emma Gillard scored four points and grabbed seven rebounds. Hope Hulka had six rebounds and four steals.
Coopersville begins the year 1-0, while Ravenna starts off 0-1.
