Nicole Schmitt, 5-8 senior forward, third year on varsity, averaged 3.3 points and 4.5 rebounds per game last year.

ANTICIPATED TEAM STRENGTHS

The Lakers will be experienced in the starting five, and will be athletic and improved from last season. Will play with speed, and the team has players with a lot of leadership skills.

ANTICIPATED TEAM CHALLENGES

Inexperience beyond the returning starters. The Lakers also lack height, and will have to rebound and defend the post by committee.

TEAMS TO BEAT IN THE CONFERENCE

Coach Hyde says Grand Rapids West Catholic, the two-time defending O-K Blue champion, is the favorite to win the crown again.
