Mona Shores got off to a strong start in the O-K Green volleyball conference tournament by beating Holland in straight sets Tuesday night. The Sailors won by set scores of 25-23, 25-13 and 25-21.
Grace Norris led the team with 11 kills and 17 digs while adding nine assists as well. Kylann Hellmann had a team-high 17 assists to go with 11 digs.
Holli Brus collected 11 digs, seven kills and a block, while Anabeth Hylland totaled 10 digs, seven kills and three blocks.
Mona Shores is now 13-16-1 on the season and 5-3 against O-K Green opponents. The Sailors will play in the GMAA tournament this weekend before resuming the conference tournament next week.
