Fruitport juniors Christian Pavlige and Dylan Winskas continued their outstanding performance this season by finishing in the top 10 at Saturday’s Oakridge Invitational cross country meet.
Pavlige finished in second place out of 67 runners with a time of 15:56. He crossed the finish line one second ahead of Whitehall’s Rex Pumford.
Winskas finished sixth overall with a time of 17:15.0.
The two standouts helped the Trojans to a third place finish in the team standings with 95 points.

Whitehall took first place with a score of 57 followed by Grand Rapids Union (63), Grand River Prep (101), Oakridge (102), Reeths-Puffer (109) and Muskegon (138).
Rounding the top finishers for Fruitport were Landon Przybylek, who finished 19th with a time of 18:59, and Carlos Cavero-Rosel, who was 27th with a time of 19:32.
All four of the top Trojan runners won medals.
“The boys ran fantastic today,” said Fruitport head coach Randy Johnson. “Christian led the way by finishing in front of two guys who were ranked higher than him. Dylan ran a personal best and all the newcomers to the team ran great.”
