The Fruitport volleyball team had a very successful night on Wednesday, posting a 3-0 record at a quad meet hosted by Reeths-Puffer.
The Trojans started the night by defeating Ravenna 25-22, 25-16, then beat Reeths-Puffer 26-24, 25-14 and Ludington 25-16, 25-18.
Fruitport senior Izzy Hanson-Wilbur had a big night, leading the Trojans with 20 kills and 25 digs defensively, while also recording two aces.
[1]Emma Fecher finished with 10 kills, 20 assists and 13 digs while Alexa Sweet totaled 16 assists and 11 digs.
Also having strong nights for Fruitport were Porter Johnson (27 digs, 10 aces) and Regan Wilson (25 digs, 7 kills).
“Everybody contributed tonight,” said Fruitport head coach Samantha Fehler. “It was awesome to see so many players step up and compete. These were true team wins for us.
[3]“Our serve-and-pass game, which we’ve been working hard on, really showed tonight. We played gritty defense, made smart decisions offensively, and are starting to really find our groove as a team.”
The Trojans will next be in action on Friday at the Battle of the Boardwalk scrimmage.
