The Fruitport girls cross country team had a strong outing on Tuesday at the Eagle Invitational at Fruitport Calvary Christian on Tuesday, taking second place out of six teams.
The Trojans had a score of 58, just behind first-place Mona Shores, which had 49 points.
Western Michigan Christian (66), Reeths-Puffer (98), Shelby (110) and Mason County Eastern (142) rounded out the rest of the field.

Fruitport senior Zoe German finished in third place individually with a time of 21:26 while junior Peyhton Beardsley also made the top 10, finishing in sixth place with a time of 21:47.
Sophomore Aynsley Merkins finished in 15th place with a time of 23:13 and junior Hailey Heistand was 20th with a time of 23:37.
Senior Genevieve Franklin was just 14 seconds shy of the top 20, finishing in 21st place with a time of 24:05.
