Fruitport’s Peyhton Beardsley exploded for five goals on Monday, helping the Trojans claim an easy 8-0 wiin over Kelloggsville in the opening round of the O-K Silver conference tournament.
Beardsley scored two goals in the first half – three more in an amazing flurry, within about 3 ½ minutes in the second half.
She now has 15 goals and six assists on the season.

Other scorers for the Trojans were Regan Wilson, Emma Cuti and Violent Olinghouse.
Amy VanVeelan had two assists for Fruitport. Goalie Ava Powell recorded her 12th shutout of the season.
Fruitport, which improved to 12-4 on the season, will host Hopkins on Thursday in the tournament semifinals.
