The Fruitport softball team fell 6-3 in a hard fought non-conference road loss to Greenville on Thursday.
The Yellowjackets took control by scoring three runs in both the third and fourth innings. Only one of their runs was earned, with the rest tied to four Fruitport defensive errors.
Trojan pitchers Khloe Courtage and Maddie Anderson both pitched well, limiting Greenville to a total of six hits.
Kendall Lee led the offensive attack for Fruitport, totaling three hits, while Mady Prout added two hits and one RBI.

“Greenville is a good team,” said Fruitport head coach Katelyn Reynolds. “They made some great defensive plays. Losing games that are within our reach definitely stings, but they are what make us better.
“We are looking to clean up some things and continue hitting the ball hard when we have runners in scoring position. I’m always proud of these girls and their willingness to bring the energy and battle regardless of the score or situation.”
The Trojans, now 9-10 on the season, will host an invitational tournament on Saturday.
