The Fruitport boys volleyball team dropped a pair of conference matches on Tuesday, including a tough three-set battle with Mona Shores.
The Trojans won the first set against Mona Shores 25-20, but dropped the last two, 20-25, 17-25.
Fruitport fell to Spring Lake 15-25, 19-25.
Gavin Wilson led the Trojans with 14 kills, four aces and 16 digs. Tanner Cappema added 13 kills while David Jiminez-Johnson had 12 kills and led the defense with 23 digs.
[1]Ed Bouchard had 36 assists and Josh Eppard served four aces.
“The boys continue to fight and work as a team,” said Fruitport head coach Sam Moore. “It wasn’t the outcome we wanted, we were really hoping to come away with at least one win tonight, but unfortunately it didn’t work out in our favor.
“With every opponent we play we learn so much about them and ourselves. Each match we learn what we need to work on and we go right into the gym and work on those things. We are getting better every day!”
Fruitport is now 1-8 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
