It’s a good sign for a team when the season starts to get long, but the scores keep improving and the wins keep coming.
That was the case for the Fruitport boys bowling team over the past few days, when the Trojans beat Belding 22-8 on Friday and Kelloggsville 24-6 on Monday.
The Trojans rolled their first 1,000-plus point team game of the season against Belding, and their overall two-game series was just three pins short of 2,000.

Bradley Dekker had two very good games – a 257 against Belding and a 254 against Kelloggsville.
Fruitport, the first-place team in the O-K Silver conference, is now 12-1 overall and 10-1 in the Silver standings.
The Trojans were not at their very best against Kelloggsville on Monday, but still managed will by a very comfortable margin.
They gained an early 10-0 lead by sweeping both baker games and the baker bonus points.
The Trojans struggled a bit in the two regular games. They won both in the overall team scores and gained eight points, but struggled in the individual matchups, winning only four out of 10 possible points.
Individual winners for Fruitport were Dekker and Peyton Wirt in Game 1 and Remy Parker and Dylan Winskas in Game 2.
“It was a good team win,” Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby said after beating Kelloggsville. “We bowled awesome in our baker games and worked together well to win the pin total in the regular games. Shoutout to Bradley Dekker, Peyton Wirt, Remy Parker and Dylan Winskas for winning their points in the regular games.
“Bowling is a long season and our boys are determined to finish strong. We will use this win to propel us to a conference title.”
