The Fruitport girls bowling team just keeps rolling, with a pair of easy victories over the past few days.

It started on Friday when Fruitport downed Belding 26-4 in a match that provided some revenge. Belding handed the Trojans their first loss of the season last month.

The success continued on Monday when the Trojans cruised past Kelloggsville 29-1.

Fruitport is now 10-2 overall and 8-2 and in first place in the O-K Silver conference.

On Friday, Kyleigh O’Connell led the Trojans past Belding with a 288 series.

On Monday, the Trojans won everything except one head-to-head matchup against Kelloggsville.

They swept the baker rounds and bonus points and took a 10-0 lead.

They won Game 1 by a score of 604-378, and all five players won their individual matchups – O’Connell, Harper Simila, Maddie Smith, Mya Herrygers and Gen Franklin. Franklin had the Game 1 high score of 131.

Fruitport won Game 2 by a score of 637-384. Herrygers, Franklin, Simila and Ava Bradshaw all won their matchups, with Simila rolling a team-high 175.

“Proud is an understatement,” said Fruitport head coach Tim McKeeby. “This team’s improvement is outstanding! We still have work to do, but are determined to finish strong and win a conference title.

“Shout out to Mya Herrygers for bowling a 252 series. Harper Simila was our most valuable bowler of the day with a 289 series that included her season high score of 175.”storagemini
