Apparently the Fruitport girls bowling team prefers dramatic victories.
Earlier this season the Trojans came from way behind to beat Godwin Heights in a close match. Not long after that, they build an early lead then had to hang on to capture another close victory over Spring Lake.
It happened again on Monday, when Fruitport lost both baker games and trailed 10-0, then dominated both regular games and emerged with a 19-11 victory over Comstock Park in an O-K Silver conference match.

The latest win continued a great turnaround season for the Fruitport girls, who are now 5-0 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
Kayleigh O’Connell was the top Trojan on Monday, rolling a 298 series.
The Trojans woke up after losing the two baker games, 144-91 and 93-79.
They won the first regular game 616-483 to gain four points. O’Connell, Ava Bradshaw, Maddie Smith, Gen Franklin and Harper Simila each won their individual matchups, adding five more points to the team total. O’Connell had the high score of 145.
Fruitport continued to roll in the second regular game, winning 632-558. O’Connell, Smith, Franklin and Simila won their matchups, giving the Trojans a nine-point bounce.
The Trojans capped off their scoring by winning the two regular game bonus points.
“Our girls team has greatly improved from the previous season and throughout this season,” said Fruitport head coach Tim McKeeby. “We are so proud of them. They are all becoming very knowledgeable bowlers who can win big games.”
The Trojans will bowl against Kelloggsville in a road match on Wednesday.
