The Fruitport girls bowling team has not forgotten how to win.
After getting off to a great 6-0 start this season, the Trojans lost two straight matches, then were forced to sit idle since Jan. 14 due to weather cancellations.
But they hit the lanes again on Monday, taking on Hopkins, the first-place team in their conference, and gutted out an impressive 19-11 victory.

The win left Fruitport tied with Hopkins for first place in the O-K Silver standings with a 4-2 record. Overall the Trojans are 7-2 on the season.
The match was tight from the beginning. Fruitport won one of the two baker rounds, as well as the baker bonus points, and had an early 6-4 lead.
The Trojans padded their lead by winning the first regular game 608-576, earning four team points. They also collected individual head-to-head wins from Harper Simila, Mya Herrygers, Gen Franklin and Kyleigh O’Connell, adding another four team points.
Hopkins bounced back and won the second regular game, however, adding four points to its total. But the Trojans salvaged three crucial points with individual victories by Simila, Herrygers and O’Connell.
Fruitport also won the two point bonus for overall pin count in the regular games, giving them 19 points, which was enough to get the big win.
