The Fruitport boys bowling team began its quest for an O-K Silver conference championship with an easy 26-4 victory over Godwin Heights on Monday.

The Trojans are now 2-0 on the season in dual matches, and 1-0 in conference play.

Fruitport was dominant from the beginning, winning both baker games and the baker bonus points to take a 10-0 lead.

In the regular rounds, the Trojans won Game 1 793-568, earning four more points. Bradley Dekker, Corbin Judd, Peyton Wirt and Keenan Camp each won their individual matchups, resulting in four more team points. Judd had the high score with a 174.

Fruitport won Game 2 673-639, adding another four points. Troy Dykstra and Judd both won individually for two more points.

The Trojans also collected the two bonus points for winning the combined game pin total.

Dekker had the high score of the night for the Trojans with a 194 in Game 2, even though he lost his head-to-head matchup. He finished with a team-high 365 series.

“Our boys team started out well with two big baker wins, and our first team game sealed the victory with four out of our five guys bowling higher than a 165,” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby. “It was overall a great team win.”storagemini
