The Fruitport volleyball team is still undefeated in O-K Silver conference play, and the Trojans had to fight hard to keep it that way.
They lost two of the first three sets on Thursday against Hopkins and had to win both of the final sets to pull out the victory.
That’s exactly what they did, rallying to win the fourth 25-17 and the tiebreaker 15-8 to steal a 3-2 win.

The full set scores were 22-25, 25-21, 20-25, 25-17, 15-8.
Fruitport improved to 3-0 in the conference standings and 13-5-1 overall.
Emma Fecher led the team with 11 kills while Josalynn Nowicki and Izzy Hanson-Wilbur had 10. Fecher posted 26 assists and Alexa Sweet added 14. Hanson-Wilbur served three aces.
On defense, Porter Johnson and Regan Wilson had 30 and 18 digs, respectively.

“Tonight was a great team win!” said Fruitport head coach Nicole Bayle. “One of our captains, Emma Danicek, a three-year starter, did not play and sophomore Rowynn Miller stepped up big in the middle position.
“We spread the offense out and had some kids really step up. Joslynn Nowicki came up huge on the right side, and so did Emma Fecher. Our defenders also found their groove tonight. Regan Wilson and Porter Johnson were relentless in the back row.
“It was an exciting game to watch. I am proud of our girls for stepping up in the big moment and executing.”
