The Fruitport soccer team has officially overcome its slow start to the season.
The Trojans beat Hopkins 4-0 on Thursday in O-K Silver conference action, their fourth straight win.
That gives Fruitport a 4-3-2 overall record, which is a heck of a lot better than the 0-3-2 mark they posted in a season-opening tournament a few weeks ago.

The Trojans are also 2-0 in the conference standings.
Davis Johnson and Adriano Saadi each scored in the first half for Fruitport, with Ryder Doherty and Jorge Burgos-Yack providing assists.
Carter Gregor scored in the second half, then Johnson capped things off with his second goal of the game. Doherty and Ryder Merkins had assists.
The shutout was the third in the last four games for the Trojans. Goalies Mason Kettel and Sebastian Sweet combined to keep Hopkins from scoring.

“I thought we generated good pressure throughout the game,” said Fruitport Coach Dan Hazekamp. “We struggled to convert on opportunities, but I liked the fact that we were generating consistent scoring chances.
“Davis Johnson and Satchel Norwood were solid throughout the game and it was great to record another shutout.”
The Trojans will host a strong Allendale squad on Saturday. [5]
