Fresh off a GMAA tournament championship on Saturday, the Fruitport baseball team continued to roll on Tuesday with a 10-0 victory over Comstock Park in O-K Silver conference action.

The Trojans are now 15-1 overall and 12-1 in the conference standings.

The Trojans grabbed the lead in the first inning on an RBI double by Ryan Bosch, then pulled further ahead in the third on a two-run double by Hudson Hazekamp.

Fruitport’s Tommy Anderson

Fruitport’s Tommy Anderson blew the game open in the fourth inning with a grand slam home run.

“Thomas is great,” Fruitport Coach Nick Reed said about Anderson. “We always know what we will get with him –  100 miles an hour,  accountability and his best effort. His bat speed is off the chart, but he also has a great eye.”

Bosch, Hazekamp and Anderson each had two hits in the game.

Avery Lambers pitched the win, striking out nine in seven innings while allowing only two hits and one walk.

The two teams were locked in a 7-7 tie in Game 2 of the doubleheader when it was suspended due to darkness. The game will be finished on Thursday at Fruitport, prior to the third and final game of the series.eddiestorageminith brands
