The opponent changed, but the results were the same for the Fruitport softball team.

On Tuesday the Trojans pummeled conference opponent Comstock Park 16-0 and 16-1 in a doubleheader. On Wednesday they just kept pounding the ball en route to a 15-1 victory over Wyoming in non-conference action.

Kendall Lee led the offensive assault with three hits and three RBIs. Overall Fruitport had 11 hits.

The Trojans took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run single by Lee.

They added five runs in the fourth, then took control with eight runs in the fifth. Kendall Prout had an RBI single, Tatum Anderson drew an RBI walk, Brooklyn Russell hit a two-run double, Madyson Prout hit a two-run single, a run scored on an error, then Kalli Tawney drove home a run with a sacrifice fly.

Russell pitched the win, scattering four hits and striking out seven with no walks in five innings.

“The girls were locked in,” said Fruitport Coach Bob Dorman. “They were seeing their pitch and we were driving the ball well. Another great performance by Brooklyn Russell pitching, and she had solid defense behind her tonight. Makes a great combination for a great team win.”

Fruitport, now 14-6, will host its own invitational tournament on Saturday.minith brandseddiestorage
