The Fruitport golf team had its best outing of the season on Friday, finishing in third place out of six at the latest O-K Silver conference jamboree.

The Trojans shot a season-best team score of 164, which was 15 shots behind first-place Calvin Christian.

Fruitport had two players finish in the top 10 individually – Tyler Carlson, who shot a nine-hole 38 for fourth place, and Chase Sullivan, who shot a 39 and finished seventh.

Cole Woodard shot a 41 and took 16th place. Chase Marcus, shooting his first varsity match, shot a 46 and finished 26th.

Landon Lodholtz and Ryder Nadeau shot a 47 and 48, respectively.

“It was really good to see three of our seniors play well,” said Fruitport Coach Aaron Gregory. “I am really proud of their effort. It is fun to see them play more in line with their capabilities. Today was a really good opportunity for Chase Marcus and Ryder Nadeau to get in a varsity match, and they both did well.

“The top of our conference is pretty tough and third place is a good finish. We held off Belding by one stroke to stay at third. Hopefully, we can continue to build on this momentum.”eddiestorageminith brands
