Five Fruitport athletes were event champions in the boys competition at last Friday’s O-K Silver Championship Track Meet at Fruitport High School.
Overall six Trojan boys earned All-Conference honors.
Fruitport’s Vincent Pollock won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:03.01.
Fruitport’s other championship came in the 4×800 relay, when the team of Pollock, Landon Johnson, Christian Pavlige and Ryder Merkins took first place with a time of 8:41.90.
All four of those athletes, along with Talon King and Luke Westerlund, earned All-Conference honors. That distinction goes to the winners of each event, or any athletes who scored eight or more points for their team.
King earned his honor for finishing second in the high jump and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles.

Westerlund became All-Conference for finishing second in the shot put and discus.
Numerous other Trojans won individual medals, which went to the top eight in each event.
They were Braylon Richards (sixth in the 300-meter hurdles), Alan Jackson (eighth in the 100-meter dash), Nathaniel Cribley-Cotto (eighth in the 200-meter dash), Ryder Merkins (second in the 400-meter dash), Leland Brauer (eighth in the shot put), Bradon Dornbos (sixth in the discus), Zach Durakovic (seventh in the discus), Evan Butler (fourth in the high jump), Ryder Chan (third in the pole vault), Evan Olson (sixth in the pole vault), SeanPaul O’Brien (third in the long jump) and Frank Kotecki (eighth in the long jump).
Other Fruitport relay teams winning medals were Shondaris McCain, Jackson, Kotecki and O’Brien, who took fifth in the 4×100, and Cribley-Cotto, Pollock, Christian Pavlige and Merkins, who took second in the 4×400.
As a team. the Trojans finished third in the meet standings and third in the overall conference standings.
“We are so proud of all of our athletes,” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby. “Our athletes took huge strides this season and earned a lot of personal records.”
