The Fruitport boys track team ended the O-K Silver conference regular season  with a 6-1 record, following a pair of decisive victories on Tuesday.

The Trojans downed Godwin Heights 88-42 and Calvin Christian 85-47. They are currently in second place in the conference standings, heading into the O-K Silver championship meet next Friday.

Fruitport still may have a chance to earn the conference title, since 50 percent of the final standings are determined by regular season performance and 50 percent by placement in the championship meet.

“We are excited to end the O-K conference regular season with a 6-1 record,” said Fruitport Coach Tim McKeeby. “This is our best team record in a long time. We are so proud of our team and all of our athletes who work hard every day to set personal records.”

Fruitport was powered on Wednesday by first place finishes in eight events.

Vincent Pollock finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:05.93 and the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5:02.84.

Ryder Merkins won the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.13, Landon Johnson won the 3,200-meter run with a mark of 11:47.83, Luke Westerlund won the shot put with a toss of 46 feet-10 inches, Zach Durakovic won the discus with a throw of 126 feet-3.5 inches, and Ryder Chan won the pole vault by clearing 10 feet.

The Trojans’ 4×800-meter relay team of Pollock, Johnson, Christian Pavlige and Merkins also took first with a time of 8:46.21.

Finishing in second for the Trojans were SeanPaul O’Brien in the 100-meter dash and the long jump, Pavilige in the 800-meter run, and Westerlund in the discus.

Fruitport’s 4×200-meter relay team of Franklin Kotecki, Nathaniel Cribley-Cotto, Alan Jackson and O’Brien also finished second.th brandseddiestoragemini
