The Fruitport softball team swept a pair of games from Kelloggsville on Tuesday, and most of the work was done in the first inning of each game.
The Trojans scored 14 runs in the first inning in Game 1 and went on to win 15-0.
The big first inning went like this – Madyson Prout tripled, scoring one run; Brylee Dewitt drew a walk, scoring one run; Kalli Tawney doubled, scoring two runs; Maya Aldridge drew a walk, scoring one run; Bri Chiaverini drew a walk, scoring one run; Prout drew a walk, scoring one run; Dewitt singled, scoring two runs; Kya Tawney drew a walk, scoring one run; Tatum Anderson singled, scoring two runs; and Chiaverini singled, scoring one run.

A double by Prout extended the Fruitport lead to 15-0 in the second inning.
Brooklynn Russell pitched the win for the Trojans, striking out eight of the nine batters she faced.
The Trojans had a repeat performance in Game 2, scoring 11 runs in the first inning en route to a 16-0 victory.
In the first inning, Kalli Tawney drew a walk, scoring one run; an error scored one run; Audrey Hinton drew a walk, scoring one run; Aryssa St. Amour tripled, scoring one run; Russell singled, scoring one run; Tawney singled, scoring two runs; Chiaverini was struck by a pitch, driving in a run; and a passed ball allowed one run.

Fruitport added five runs in the second inning. St. Amour singled, scoring one run; Khloe Courtade drew a walk, scoring one run; and an error allowed three runs.
Courtade pitched the win in Game 2, striking out eight and walking one in three innings.
The Trojans, now 3-0, will return to action on April 17 with a doubleheader against Spring Lake.
