The Fruitport girls soccer team rolled to its sixth straight victory on Monday, 7-0 over Comstock Park in O-K Silver conference action.
Ava Vanveelan led the scoring parade for the Trojans with two goals. Peyhton Beardsley, Porter Johnson, Myla Parker, Olivia Cotto-Cribley and Kendalynn Gangwer all scored single goals.
Gangwer, a senior, scored the first goal of her varsity career.
Violet Olinghouse and Myla Parker each had two assists for Fruitport while Kendal Kolberg, Makayla Boelkins and Mackenzie Beardsley each added one.
[1]Comstock Park was not able to get a shot on goal in the game, due to the strong play of the Trojans’ defensive back line of Alexa Sweet, Maycees Hall, Izzy Hanson-Wilbur and Kenzie Pate.
“The real headline goes to senior Kendalynn Gangwer, who scored her first varsity goal,” said Fruitport Coach Kyle Hall. “Kendalynn is a player who shows up daily with a selfless, positive attitude and a generally quiet demeanor. Through highs and lows she remains consistent and leads in more ways than she is given credit for. As a program we could not be more proud of Kendalynn. This team is truly a better team because of her.”
The Trojans, now 7-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play, will host NorthPointe Christian on Wednesday. Fruitport is in first place in the O-K Silver while NorthPointe is second at 4-1.
